Xirrus introduces new 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi access points
Xirrus has announced new four and eight-radio high density Xirrus 802.11ac access points. The company said the new APs give it the broadest Wave 2 portfolio in the WiFi industry.
Xirrus claims its offering is distinct as it offers the ‘only software-defined Wi-Fi solution that enables an all Wave 2 solution, which delivers up to eight times the Wave 2 capacity per AP compared with competitive solutions’.
The new four radio XD and eight radio XR high density Wave 2 solutions were built specifically to address the connectivity challenges that enterprises, educational institutions and public venues face. The adaptive Wi-Fi solution provides the full suite of Wave 2 features, enabling Xirrus to deliver the highest performance and most adaptive cloud managed Wi-Fi solutions available, the company said.
As new Wave 2 devices emerge in the market, Wi-Fi networks must support these new technologies without requiring a complete network overhaul. According to a recent report, 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi solutions will become the highest shipping Wi-Fi standard in the near future.
