Cradlepoint has announced that it will demo the Cradlepoint NetCloud platform at the Open Networking User Group (ONUG) Fall Conference, October 24-25, 2016, to showcase its unique capability to extend the benefits of Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) to Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile networks.
The primary use case today for SD-WAN has been augmenting or replacing expensive and constrained MPLS branch networks with a hybrid WAN that includes broadband connections. However, many enterprises are shifting their WAN focus beyond the wired branch and towards the growing number of remote people and things they need to connect over the public internet, including IoT deployments, connected vehicles, pop-up stores, kiosks, caregivers and their equipment, and even body-worn cameras. Cradlepoint is the first to combine 4G LTE, SD-WAN, and Network Service Virtualizations (NSV) into a cloud-managed and cloud-delivered platform specifically designed for securely connecting people, places, and things over wired and wireless broadband networks.
Enterprises and government organizations across every vertical are embracing cloud, mobile, and IoT technologies to realize more agile and efficient operations and empower their workforces to accomplish more with less resources,” said Christian Renaud, research director of 451 Research’s Internet of Things practice. “SD-WAN promises to consolidate disparate physical networks with a virtual, software-defined approach that significantly reduces complexity and operational costs while improving security. Cradlepoint is leveraging its 4G LTE leadership to deliver software-defined and cloud-delivered network solutions specifically designed for this new enterprise WAN paradigm.
IoT deployments, SaaS, work-from-anywhere lifestyles, and mobile networks are driving more private traffic over the public internet and giving rise to a new ‘interprise’ WAN with greater dependence on 4G LTE and security,” said Ian Pennell, chief marketing officer, Cradlepoint. “We are excited to be demonstrating our new NetCloud platform at the ONUG Fall Conference and show attendees the benefit of extending SD-WAN beyond the branch to connect people and things anywhere with complete visibility, security, and control.
Cradlepoint NetCloud is a software and services platform that extends the company’s 4G LTE-enabled multi-WAN routers and ruggedized M2M/IoT gateways with cloud-based management and software-defined network services. Cradlepoint will demo its NetCloud platform at the ONUG event at Table #32 next week in New York City.
