Bring Secure and Private Industrial LTE to Industrial Workers and Public Redline Communications and Sonim Technologies Safety
Redline has announced that it has completed exhaustive testing and customer trials of its new RDL-LTE solution with Sonim Technologies, maker of the world’s toughest Android smartphones.
Testing of Redline’s RDL-LTE system was conducted at their interoperability lab in Markham, Ontario. After successful lab tests, the combined solution was introduced in field trials over the last few months. These trials were performed in several countries and across various LTE bands. First responder trials were conducted in Canada and the U.S. using Redline Band Class 14. Redline tested their eNodeB, Redline and third party EPC’s, as well as Redline and third party push-to-talk (PTT) applications reserved for public safety, specifically on the Sonim XP7 using the Band 14 Class network.
Our overall experience with Sonim has been a very smooth process. The XP7 devices, which we received in a number of bands, all worked very well. Our clients loved the phone’s ultra-ruggedness, quality, LMR features and the extended battery life. These attributes of Sonim phones are in line with the attributes of the Redline solution and are very important to First Responders and industrial workers in Military, Oil & Gas, mining and other industrial segments,” said Louis Lambert, VP at Redline.
We are excited to see companies like Redline come to the market with a fit-for-purpose solution for secure and private LTE networks, made for those markets where there is either no public LTE service available, or the customer does not want to use the public networks,” said Jeff Pon, SVP of Global Sales, Sonim. “Redline quickly provisioned the XP7 devices for their private LTE networks. They managed the whole process from beginning to end including the creation of SIM cards, which delivered great value to their customers.”
